first_imgIndia Today has accessed the post mortem report of model Sonika Chauhan who died in a fatal car crash in Kolkata on April 29. The report states that the model turned sports anchor died “due to effects of injuries” sustained in the fatal crash. As per the report, Sonika sustained critical injuries in the head which eventually resulted in her death. According to Kolkata police sources, the model was seated in the front seat, and unlike actor Vikram she was not wearing the seat belt, a reason why she bore the maximum impact of the crash. The report mentions “extravasation of blood covered right frontal to right occipital region” as well as “diffused sub-dural haematoma covered both cerebral hemispheres including their under surfaces”. It also mentions other injuries on the chest and arm.Doctors say, the report indicates severe head injury resulting in massive internal hemorrhage. Given the extent of head injury is so large, they say the possibility of the car moving at a very high speed cannot be ruled out.Remember, actor Vikram Chatterjee who was at the wheel when the accident took place survived the crash. Chatterjee has claimed that he was neither drunk nor speeding his car. Although, police sources claim the actor was driving anywhere between 95 and 105 Km per hour.Chatterjee, who is presently out on bail granted by a lower court has appealed before the High Court for anticipatory bail fearing a possible arrest. This after the Kolkata Police filed a petition before the Alipore court last week to add the non-bailable IPC section 304 against the actor.advertisementMeanwhile, the bereaved parents of Sonika Chauhan has once again appealed for justice. “We want justice for our daughter. The Kolkata police have taken a step forward in imposing a stricter section. Now we are awaiting June 13 after courts open when the bail plea will be heard,” they said in a statement. Also read | Vikram Chatterjee files for anticipatory bail in Sonika Chauhan death caseAlso read | Sonika Chauhan death: Lab claims Vikram’s blood sample inadequate for forensic testAlso read | Kolkata model Sonika’s death: Actor Vikram Chatterjee booked for culpable homicideAlso Watch: Sonika Chauhan’s death: Kolkata lab says got inadequate sample of Vikram Chatterjee’s bloodlast_img read more
